FCCN Sunday Service Preview - "Memorial Day Service"
May 28, 2017
One of our signature services has become the Memorial Day Sunday Service. It is important to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the freedoms we as Americans enjoy, So many have made that "last full measure of devotion." In fact, nearly one and a half million. Go to any military cemetery and one gets some of the enormity of sacrifices made. This Sunday we have an especially meaningful service that will include Lieutenant Spencer Roach who is the special assistant to Congressman Rooney and an accomplished individual. Remembering so many died in the American Revolution, Jacob Winge will reenact a patriot of the Revolution and why over 26,000 laid down their lives to make America a free and independent nation. A special rendition of "God Bless America" will be offered by Crystal Gabbard, accompanied by a string ensemble. You will not want to miss two of our WWII veterans presenting the memorial wreath remembering the fallen.
Serving Him together, Rev. Les Wicker, pastor
Lieutenant Spencer Roach, special assistant to Congressman Rooney will bring an inspirational patriotic message.
Vocalist Crystal Gabbard will perform a special arrangement of "God Bless America" accompanied by interpretive movements.

Be sure to read Pastor Wicker's article in the Saturday edition of the Naples Daily News. The article focuses on phrases from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address that exemplify what Memorial Day is about. Such phrases as "the last full measure of devotion," or "that these dead shall not have died in vain."
