FCCN Sunday Service Preview - "The Valley After the Mountain"

March 11, 2018
"As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus charged them to tell no one what they had seen.  ~ Mark  9:9
Dear Friends,
The Sunday preceding Lent is called "Transfiguration Sunday," as Jesus was transfigured with Moses and Elijah.  He took with him Peter, James, and John, who were amazed beyond words at what they beheld. But Jesus did not stay on the mountain. He came down to the real world of trials that would define his life until his death on the cross.  It would be trials of suffering, betrayal, and denial. Lent is a season reflective of Christ's day's subsequent to the Transfiguration...We've all been on the top of the mountain, but frequently find ourselves in the valley  "after the mountain." Life is filled with valleys.  High moments never last.  It's how we respond to the low moments that define our lives.
Serving Him together, Rev. Les Wicker, pastor
