Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
FCCN Sunday Service Preview - "Where Is God?"
July 22, 2018,
Have you ever wondered where God is? Maybe you remember the answer of the Russian cosmonaut that was in outer space and he was asked if he saw God. And looking down at the earth, he said God was nowhere to be seen. There may be times in your life when you feel God is nowhere to be seen. Or as the title of Phil Yancey's book, Where Is God When It Hurts? asks, you may wonder where God is when you really need him. Does God listen? Does God respond to our pleas? When we pray, are the prayers simply rising to empty space? This is not a new question as it has been asked time and time again. Obviously when David wrote the Psalm 139, he toyed with the same question, but also had a conclusion that is as true today as it was when gave an answer. His answer was not too different from that of St. Patrick who said God was above him, beneath him, beside him, before him, within him. We do not have to go to outer space to see God. Perhaps when God seems most silent, it is at that point God is most near.

We do not have enough words to be thankful for your actions and the chuch. On behalf of my daughter and myself MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL HUNDRED TIMES FOLD! Tomorrow we will gather with the doctors and review the final results of the procedure. We did not have enough money to buy our tickets back to Naples, but with the funds you gave, we can get back home and I can buy food while we are here.
